NOTE: ALL STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE THEIR FLASH DRIVES AT SCHOOL EACH DAY. THESE WILL GO BACK AND FORTH FROM HOME TO SCHOOL AS THE CHILDREN WORK ON THEIR ASSIGNMENTS. ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE PRINTED OUT IN THE CLASSROOM. COLOUR PRINTING IS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE CLASSROOMS. THE STUDENTS WILL SAVE THEIR WORK IN THEIR SCHOOL FOLDER BUT JUST IN CASE, EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE SAVED ON THE FLASH DRIVE.

MATH GREAT WEBSITE: Tthere is a wonderful website out there which will provide good practice. It is called Jonnie's Math. Try it! You'll like it! Practice Websites: Parents can visit the website for free additional math activities that support the Student Books. These activities are linked under the Companion Sites section with a list of sites separated by grade, chapter, and even lessons. www.nelson.com/mathfocus/
TRY IT OUT - Online multiple-choice quizzes that allow students to tests themselves on what they have learned in the lesson. WEB QUESTS - Activities where students search various websites to complete tasks that show how the math learned in each chapter is used in the real world. The Nelson website also includes product information and other helpful support for parents. Some other fun websites are tutpup.com (this one will help with operations such as multiplication). All Weekly News and Critical Thinking assignments are due every Tuesday. Now that the second term is finished, we have reviewed the criteria for the critical thinking. These criteria have been created as a class, taking into consideration the purpose of the assignment as well as givens. The criteria are as follows:
-answer questions in full sentences
-information is accurate and taken from weekly text
-minimum of 4 facts
- ending --In conclusion...and one opinion or fact (summary)
Givens: name, date, week #, punctuation, spelling and interesting sentences (a variety of sentence starters and interesting vocabulary) SCIENCE
