Dear Parents,
We are now coming to the end of our Walk-a-thon celebration with our ending assembly on Thursday, May 20 at 2:20 p.m. We have done an outstanding job - the “Circus” theme helped bring fun and community to the event. We will have the new Kindergarten class up and running. Mr. Rapier will be adding new technology for our teachers and students and our reformatted band program should bring more students to be a part of the band.
Again, thank you, parents, for all the hours you have put into making the Walk-a-thon not only a great fundraiser but a great community builder.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to move the Principal for the Day to this Friday. So on Friday, May 14, we will have a Spirit day in which the students are asked to dress-up – shirt, tie, and dress pants for the boys and dresses or Sunday best (modest clothing please) for the girls.
God Bless,
Wendell MacCormack
Principal
Prayers Requested: Please pray for the repose of the soul of Alexa Nemeth’s father, Sean, who passed away suddenly last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. His funeral will be held at the South Delta Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 13. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alexa Marie Scholarship Fund. Contact Gerry Nemeth at gerry@ntacan.com for more information.
Science Fair: The Sacred Heart Science Fair for students who volunteered to participate will be held on Wednesday, May 19 from 10:00-3:00 for students and from 6:00-8:00 pm for families. Please come and check out the exhibits and cool experiments that the students have worked hard to complete. There will be judges and prizes and a concession to help curb the appetite.
Beautiful Plants for Sale: Locally grown lilacs and hydrangeas are available for purchase right here at the school. These beautiful and fragrant plants have been generously donated to the school by Mr. & Mrs. Bill Vander Zalm. Prices are great too with the small/medium sized lilacs selling for $20, the large ones for $40 and the hydrangeas selling for $10 each or 2 for $15. Monies from all plants sold go directly to the school to support school programs. Come and check them out. They are on display along the circular driveway in front of the school and are available for purchase until Friday May 14, 2010. Cash or cheques cheerfully accepted in the school office. Thank you for your generous support.
Do you love to sing? If you are between 8-13 years old, Monica Rumpel (Thomas Rumpel’s sister) & Michelle Jones invite you to join them in “SING OUT”, a summer singing camp - July 5-23 (M, W, F) from 9-10:30 am or 10:45-12:15 am.
