Dear Parents,
The month of June has arrived but it feels like the month of November weather wise. This month will be a busy one, like the previous nine. Please keep a close eye on the school calendar found on our school web-site.
Track is in full swing and thank you parents, students and our leader, Mr. Jones, for all the time you have put into the program, making it fun and competitive.
Mr. Rapier is working on purchasing the new technology for next year and our new band teacher, Mr. Milosevic, will be showcasing his program this week and inviting students from Grade 5/6 to participate in the band program for next year.
We will be celebrating our Feast Day on Monday, June 14. There will be no school for the students that day. Play Day will be on June 18 with dismissal at 12:15.
Again, thank you parents for your support and many hours of volunteer work, you do make a difference here at Sacred Heart.
We are looking for a home stay for a Gr. 5 Korean boy from September 2010 to June 2011. If you are interested please call Mr. MacCormack at the school (946-2611).

Parent Participation Hours: We have received parent participation hours reports from only 50% of our school families. Does it mean that if you have not submitted a form, you want us to cash your cheque? Please ensure all parent participation forms are submitted to the school either electronically or in person by this Friday June 4, 2010 at the latest if you do not want your cheque cashed. A report will be prepared early next week and cheques will be deposited on June 10 for any families who have not submitted their information. Please complete the online form that has a link on our web site’s home page (www.shsdelta.org) or click on the following link, fill in the details and click the submit form button at the bottom: http://www.shsdelta.org/pphours.asp. Please remember to keep a copy for your records as glitches have been known to happen. Thank you for your cooperation.
New PEC Members: Gregory Accili, Deirdre Bostock and Wayne Fraser are the new members of the PEC replacing Brian Godlonton, Grant Cameron and Paul Krueger. We would like to thank Brian, Grant and Paul for all the time and effort that they have put into serving our school community over the last few years.
Prayers: Please pray for the Yingling family (Jack, Mark & Max) as their Nana, Joyce, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 26. The family is grieving the loss of a significant and very special family member and would appreciate the prayers of our school community.
Grade 5 Parents: Sign-up sheets are available in the office for you to volunteer for the Gr. 7 Farewell Reception that will be held on Monday, June 28 from 7:00 pm onwards. Contact Angela Ford at angelavford@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Dinner Dance Auction: The DDA Committee is having their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, June 8 at 7:00 pm in the parish centre classroom (band room). We welcome all families interested in helping with this fundraiser to join us – we will be providing more information about the event as well as identifying the many volunteer opportunities that are available. We look forward to seeing you there.
